The World We Want Fete

Thursday, 23rd May

3:30pm – 6pm

Please join the PSA as we welcome local eco-friendly groups & businesses to learn how you can live more sustainably!

The PSA was happy to match-fund the school’s sustainability curriculum on ‘The World We Want’ and the event will be a celebration of that theme following the children’s showcase on Thursday, 23rd May.

We could use volunteers so if you’re able to give an hour of your time, please sign up below.

Plastic Free Hackney

Plastic-Free Hackney is a campaign group committed to creating a cleaner and greener community for everyone.

We aim to do this though a circular approach:

Raising awareness of the issues of single-use plastics and working with groups to find sustainable alternatives

Organising litter picks and community events to remove plastic pollution from our environment.

instigating planting projects that benefit both the community and our natural world.

Bread by Bike

We believe passionately in the slow fermentation of breads using natural yeast cultures, taking a little longer to make a truly excellent product. High-quality ingredients from renowned producers are at the heart of everything we create.

Sustainable production methods are second nature for us. Our only means of delivery is the humble but environmentally-friendly bicycle. All our packaging is recyclable and biodegradable. These are not things we feel we should be applauded for, we just think you should know!

North London Waste Authority

The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is made up of seven north London boroughs (Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest). Over two million residents live in the NLWA area.

NLWA is responsible for helping the seven north London boroughs dispose of the 850,000 tonnes of waste they collect every year. NLWA's aims are to:

achieve a 50% recycling rate by 2020

reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill to 35% (of 1995 amounts) by 2020

At Offcut Studio we combine style, functionality and ethical sustainability to create beautiful things for your home. We celebrate colour, shape, pattern and texture through our designs, producing high quality items that are made to last and won’t end up in landfill.

Our ethos is to live, work and create with an ethically sustainable approach and our aim is to produce contemporary home accessories that provide a positive choice in a society where waste has become the norm.

Fashion stylist, Russell Philip Peek opened Offcut Studio with a desire to become a zero to landfill fashion studio. Using his knowledge of bespoke garment construction, his experience of the luxury fashion industry and a consciousness of the human impact on the planet, he turned to the cushion as a way to reduce industry waste.

We’re interested in the history of our products as much as we are in their future, and each of them tells a story. From the inside out our products are made using recycled and responsibly sourced fabrics, meaning that every item is truly original and makes a low impact on the environment.
