VIRTUAL PSA AGM – Thursday 22nd October 2020, 8-9pm via Zoom

Dear Parents, Carers and Staff,                             1st October 2020

VIRTUAL PSA AGM – Thursday 22nd October 2020, 8-9pm via Zoom (link below)

As you know the PSA (Parent / Staff Association) raises money throughout the year (approx £11,000) to help fund additional school activities for all our children. Thank you so much to all our parents and carers who have:

  • ·      helped organise and run previous fundraising events (fairs, barn dances, film nights, book swops etc

  • ·       attended and spent money at PSA events

  • ·       made and helped with PSA cakes sales

  • ·       sourced prizes, sold and bought raffle tickets

  • ·        donated by using the PSA Amazon link https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ch/1084738-0 (Please use!)

An incredible effort all round!

Last year the PSA allocated ~£5000 funding to a variety of school projects including the Christmas Pantomime, ongoing mindfulness project, anti bullying week theatre company visit, rainy day boxes, sports equipment including yoga mats, playground equipment including table tennis tables and quiet area resources and matched funding for the World we Want project.

Parents and carers tell us it’s really important to provide that funding, but we need to raise money each year! And this coming year is going to be particularly challenging due to covid physical distancing restrictions (with some much loved events sadly absent from this year’s calendar eg the barn dance and winter fair). BUT we do have lots of ideas for alternative fundraising events and we would love (and need) you to get involved and also share your fundraising ideas…

That’s where you come in!  Our next Annual General Meeting is taking place on: Thurs 22nd Oct 2020 8-9pm

Via the following Zoom link:

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84227984142?pwd=RHJUeUc0cXZSeFVCSXY0RFhtcC9kQT09
Meeting ID: 842 2798 4142
Passcode: 562728

At that meeting, as well as discussing funding priorities and fundraising ideas we will be voting for the parent / carer group who will run the PSA over the next year. Parents / carers can put themselves forward to be part of this team and / or champion specific fundraising events- please see our website for more information www.grazebrookpsa.com

We would love to see you at the AGM and hope you can join us.

With best wishes

Ali, Nadine and Beth and the PSA team

Grazebrook Raffle

Grazebrook Raffle - After years of huge success Catherine Hyotte is moving on and we are looking for someone to head up the raffle group.

The group is a a fully functioning fantastic group of people who already collect loads to prizes, we just need someone organised to collate all the prizes onto a spreadsheet, order the raffle tickets, and help match tickets to prizes on the day of the Winter Fair (7th Dec) - anyone fancy taking this on?

The raffle is one of our biggest money makers, so if you want to help contribute to raising school funds, this is a great way to do it.

Feel free to post here or contact Catherine Hyotte / Rachel Kneafsey

Christmas Card Competition

Dear Parents/Guardians, Design Your Own Christmas Cards It’s that time of year again where we take part in the Christmas Card Project in partnership with Art Projects for Schools Ltd (www.apfs.org.uk).

The funds raised through your support will go towards tickets for the Christmas Pantomime.

All you need to do is:

Ask/help your child to create a piece of artwork on A4 paper, any paper/card can be used (coloured paper works really well)

It can be decorated using anything except glitter (pen/ink/paint/cotton wool/buttons/material etc).

Hand the artwork into reception by THURSDAY 17TH OCTOBER 2019, with your child’s name and class written on the back of the artwork. We will also be selecting one design to use as the Grazebrook School Winter Fair Poster! After half term:

You will receive the artwork back with a code to use to order the cards/wrapping paper/gift tags online (you will also be able to personalise your items with your child’s name and create your own custom greetings, and pay securely by debit or credit card).

Orders will need to be placed online by 5th NOVEMBER 2019 and will then be sent out by 18th November 2019, in plenty of time to write and send your cards.

Any enquiries relating to the project should be addressed to Rachel (rjkneafsey@hotmail.com, 07786 266095).

Many thanks for your support. Grazebrook PSA
